Latif Khosa of the PPP was given a show-cause order for 'defending' the PTI leader.
Sardar Latif Khosa, a prominent party leader and attorney, was given a show-cause notice by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Thursday for breaking party rules by defending the leader of another political party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Khosa was sent a notice by PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bokhari asking him to justify why he should not face disciplinary action.
The notice read, "You are defending/ pleading/ representing a head of another political party in corruption cases in which he has been convicted and in a case against him under official secret Act without prior approval of leadership. Additionally, while delivering a speech at a lawyers function, you criticized the state policy regarding cipher."
The warning also stated that Khosa's party membership would be canceled if no response was received within the specified time frame and that the PPP leader had criticized the state's cipher policy during the occasion.
