In a recent viral video, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the commander of the Russian mercenaries, can be seen in Africa just days before he passes away, debunking rumors about his safety and potential security risks.

In the brief video posted by the Grey Zone Telegram channel, which is connected to his Wagner Group, Prigozhin states, "For those who are discussing whether I'm alive or not, how I'm doing - right now it's the weekend, second half of August 2023, I'm in Africa."

"So for people who like to discuss wiping me out, or my private life, how much I earn, or whatever else - everything's ok," he continues with a wave of his hand.

The video was recorded while moving, therefore neither the location nor the date could be independently confirmed by Reuters. In a video that was made public on August 21 and that Prigozhin said was shot in Africa, he appeared in a similar camouflage outfit, complete with cap and watch on his right wrist.

"So for people who like to discuss wiping me out, or my private life, how much I earn, or whatever else - everything's ok," he continues with a wave of his hand.

The notion that President Vladimir Putin had Prigozhin assassinated in retaliation has been refuted by the Kremlin as a "absolute lie," but the Kremlin has stated that the accident investigation is looking into the potential of foul play.

On Tuesday, Prigozhin was laid to rest in his hometown of St. Petersburg's Porokhovskoye cemetery.
