October 8th, LAHORE (APP): As of Sunday, 143 new cases of dengue virus were reported in Punjab, according to the most recent information available from the Health Department. In Punjab, 36 districts have reported a total of 5,469 confirmed dengue cases this year.


Lahore tops the terrible list with a startling 2,130 cases. It is closely followed by Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad, each of which has 1,561 cases, 268 cases, 620 cases, and 245 cases.

52 new dengue cases were reported in Lahore, 47 in Rawalpindi, 10 in Multan, 11 in Gujranwala, 10 in Faisalabad, 3 in Sheikhupura, 2 in Kasur, 1 in Gujrat, Chakwal, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and 1 in Rajanpur during the same period. 118 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at this time in different hospitals around Punjab, with 36 of them being housed in Lahore alone.
Ali Jaan Khan, the secretary of health for Punjab, made a powerful appeal to the populace, imploring them to keep dry and clean surroundings as an essential preventive precaution against dengue disease.
The health department offers a free helpline at 1033 for people looking for dengue treatment, advice, or who want to file a complaint.
